Field Trips
Fish With the Finest Inc. offers engaging, hands-on marine-based field trips that combine exploration, education, and unforgettable memories. Each trip includes access to our vessels, The Estella and The New Hustler, with a limit of 40 passengers per trip (including students, teachers, and chaperones). In partnership with the Channel Islands Maritime Museum, students will first explore the museum’s incredible exhibits, gaining insight into maritime history and ocean conservation. From there, they’ll step aboard for a transformative boat experience on the water, where they’ll connect with the marine environment up close.

Maritime Beginnings
Offering an exciting introduction to the world of maritime, fishing and boating. Whether it’s their first time on a boat or they have some experience, students will build confidence and learn essential skills.

Our vessels are Coast Guard Certified and undergo regular inspections to ensure safety and reliability. Each vessel is equipped with two restrooms featuring fresh water sinks. In case of rain, we have an indoor galley with seating to keep activities on track.

As lifelong Ventura County residents, my husband Chris and I deeply believe in the power of maritime experiences to open hearts, minds, and futures. Through my work in the community, I realized something that weighed heavily on me, so many students in Ventura County had never been to the ocean, let alone set foot on a boat.
That realization sparked our mission: to create affordable and accessible field trip programs that allow all students to experience the magic of the water multiple times throughout their educational journey.
Our Waves of Opportunity field trips and workshops are designed to inspire curiosity, teach hands-on skills, and build confidence, all while fostering a deep connection to the marine environment.
For us, the ocean is more than just a place, it’s a gateway to learning, growth, and opportunity. Every student deserves the chance to feel the sea air, stand on a working vessel, and leave with knowledge, inspiration, and memories that last a lifetime.
